About the Therapist
My name is Cathy Ollerenshaw and I am a Therapeutic Canine Massage Therapist. I have always loved animals of all kinds and have spent the last 28 years working on our family farm in the Derbyshire Peak District, I have also spent the last 10 years working as both a general and latterly a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant at my local primary school.
I have 3 children and many pets, the dogs in my life at present are two young Border Collies, Sam and Skye they are brother and sister. At just 2 years old they are a handful of trouble but alot of fun!
I have always loved and owned dogs and have for a while considered a complete career change that would allow me to work with them full time but didn't know what I would like to do. During a heartbreaking experience with my elderly Border Collie Ben just over 2 years ago I discovered that massaging him helped his comfort and quality of life during his final weeks. After losing Ben I decided to explore massage therapy in more detail and enrolled on the Therapeutic Canine Massage Diploma with Natalie Lenton at the Canine Massage Therapy centre. Two years on I have studied in detail Canine Anatomy and Physiology and 4 disciplines of massage. I love to see the results that massage therapy can have on dogs of all breeds, ages and lifestyles and am 100% committed to helping any dog to improve its quality of life, mobility and performance be it by relieving issues caused by old age, muscular injury, orthopaedic or neurological disorders.
Although I have always owned Border Collies I love all dogs and am thoroughly enjoying getting to know and learning about dogs of all breeds. I have treated dogs from a range of lifestyles including pets, rescue dogs, ex-racing dogs, working dogs and champion level agility dogs both young and old.

"Flo is nearly 12 years old and means the world to me . I'm really grateful to Cathy for all she has done for her. Flo's tightness in her back from old strain injuries and range of movement in her shoulders has improved hugely ! Flo loves the sessions too, thank you Cathy :-)"

"I wanted to ensure Pip was in tip top condition for competing at Olympia this year. So pleased Cathy spotted the tiny muscle strains that could have become a problem. I am all for prevention over cure. Pip will be continuing regular treatment with Cathy , she ran like a dream and I felt confident that she was ready for anything. Thank you Cathy."

"I was very sceptical and did not think massage could make much difference to the dogs, I was wrong. Bella and Benji now have more energy it really made their movement easier and they seem much younger I would recommend Cathy and massage therapy to all dog lovers."
