About the Therapist

My name is Darren and I live in Fareham, Hampshire. I adopted my two Collie cross breed dogs Luki and Misty from The Stubbington Ark (RSPCA). As a graduate sports therapist I have over 10 years experience treating and managing human musculoskeletal injuries. As a therapeutic canine massage therapist I can help to resolve soft tissue or muscular problems and helps support orthopaedic issues like Arthritis and Hip Dysplasia with tangible results. My current hobbies include dog walking and training my dogs. We attend dog agility training at the Fun Dog Agility Club in Fareham, and occasionally attend local competitions. I always dreamt of working with animals and I am now fulfilling my passion with a career in helping dogs with muscular injuries.

"I was interested and hopeful that the treatment may highlight and/or possibly help my dog`s mobility problems. Darren is so calm and kind that she responded really well to his actions. He was fantastic! He reassured her during the massage. She enjoyed the experience. I actually saw improvements after the first session. He worked on her shoulder area to relieve her stiffness. This resulted on her front legs dropping correctly by her side when she lies, instead of having to support it with a cushion. Since then her stance and gait have improved tremendously. I have been pleased with her progress and want to carry on with maintenance."

"My dog's behaviour had changed towards other dogs and visitors to the house. Darren identified that my dog had strained his back. He was very nervous for the first session and I was worried about his reaction, however he soon relaxed. He really liked Darren and I feel that was because of Darren's calm approach and attitude. The results were amazing. He showed a massive improvement. He is a happier dog and everyone has noticed. He walks better and we could not be happier with the results. He is back to his friendly self and I have my old dog back!"

"My agility dog's stride had started to shorten and he had started to clip jumps. After 3 sessions his stride and jump pattern had lengthened to his original length and his speed was noticeably quicker."

"My dog was lame on one of her front legs. Darren identified the problem area and treated appropriately. My dog is now moving freely on her front leg. She is running more and can even jump up onto the sofa again! We are very pleased with the results."
