About the therapist
Hi, I'm Helen and I run Positive Paws Canine Massage, a hands-on therapy aiming to improve your dog's mobility and overall quality of life. Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, mostly Terriers and Border Collies. My knowledge and understanding of dogs in general really started to expand and grow when my current dog, a Border Collie called Blue, came along and proved a real challenge. I threw myself into learning more about dogs and understanding them attending as many training courses, workshops and seminars as possible, covering various aspects of dog training, behaviour, psychology and health. I now run my own dog walking business and am an instructor at a local dog training club, as well as being in the process of setting up a jointly run training school with a friend and colleague. I am also a qualified Level 3 Canine Hydrotherapist and am working towards accreditation with the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor Scheme. When my own dog, Blue was 10 months old, she was hit by a car which left her with extensive soft tissue damage to her right hind leg. Not long after this, I took her to a one day Beginners Guide to Canine Massage run by Natalie Lenton at the Canine Massage Therapy Centre – I knew instantly that this is what I wanted to do. I was facing redundancy from my job with the BBC and so I applied for the two year Diploma in Canine Massage course and qualified in 2015.
Sessions cost £30.00.
