About the Therapist

My name is Sam Axtell and I am a canine massage therapist covering Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire and parts of Shropshire. I provide affordable massage treatments individually tailored to the needs of your dog. I specialise in treating muscular and other soft tissue injuries and have a great track record of helping dogs recover from debilitating muscular conditions and supporting the management of orthopaedic conditions such as hip dysplasia.

I am also a Reiki practitioner and I have found that some dogs are very receptive to this sort of treatment.
I have two rescue dogs, Harvey and Ripley, and I enjoy running and walking with them in the fabulous countryside near to where I live.

I have a lifelong interest in dogs and am interested in all aspects of their lives – healthcare, training and general lifestyle.

As well as running Wolf Run I work part time as a community engagement worker with a local council. As such you will find that I will put you and your dog at the centre of any treatment programme.

My fees are £35 for an initial consultation which lasts at least an hour and half and includes palpation, gait analysis and a full body massage treatment.

Thereafter my fees are £30 for an hour`s massage treatment.

An initial treatment with me will never be more than three sessions. You may want to programme in regular maintenance sessions with me after the first course of treatment.

I usually work from my base in Wolverhampton but I will travel to client’s homes in exceptional circumstances. If it is within a five mile radius of my home in Wolverhampton there is no charge for this. If you live further away there will be a small charge for mileage. I will discuss this with you when you book your first treatment with me.

Client Comments

After his first treatment Oscar's movement was noticeably more fluid. He was much more confident when walking and clearly in less pain, making movements that he had been avoiding for many months. He obviously recognised the benefits for himself because he couldn't get onto the massage table quick enough the second time! Much of this was due to the calm and sensitive way that Sam handled Oscar.

Miss Ellie

“After Miss Ellie’s treatment with Sam, I could see a difference in her mobility. She was more active on walks and found it easier to get in the car (and on the sofa). Would definitely recommend Wolfrun to others; it’s put the spring back into my Springer.”

“Our beautiful greyhound boy had a few problems with his musculature and never broke into a proper run. Since his treatment with Sam, his movement has improved noticeably and he’s raring to go. He really enjoyed the massages and definitely took a shine to Sam who was so considerate and gentle with him. I can’t recommend Sam’s skills highly enough.”

Sam is currently treating my Samoyed Sully who has hip dysplasia. She’s absolutely fantastic! Sully loves his massage sessions (and the fuss and kisses!) Sam is very thorough and let’s you know exactly what she’s doing and why, I’ve already seen an improvement in the way Sully moves after just 2 sessions. Would highly recommend!!

Sam, I just wanted to let you know something amazing about Cassey. We went to our caravan last weekend. She spent loads of time running on the beach but with one big difference – no limping or lameness whatsoever. I just know it’s because of the treatments you are providing. I really wanted to tell you how much we appreciate what you’re doing for Cassey. She means so much to us and you are enabling her to enjoy life at it’s fullest.

Thank you
