Canine Massage Muscle Check

Bring along your dog to one of our Stands for a
FREE Muscular Health Check!

What Is A Muscular Health Check?

Canine Massage Guild members have studied for 2 Years with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre and have a thorough understanding of the dogs anatomy, conformation muscular injuries and soft tissue issues. Using the practice Palpation, also called the practice of informed touch, we isolate muscles and feel them for changes that can occur in Temperature, Texture, Tenderness and Tone, also called the ‘4 T’s’ of Palpation. As a trained therapist it is just as important to know what is normal and it is to know what is normal and learning true palpation will take several years.

Your dog will simply be asked to stand although we are able to adapt to your dogs needs if they prefer to lie or sit down. The therapist will then use different palpation techniques to assess your dogs superficial musculature.

Why Is It Beneficial For My Dog?

The assessment can help you to understand areas of your dogs body which may be harbouring Myofascial Pain, Strains (tears to the muscle), Trigger Points and areas of overcompensation from orthopaedic issue helping you to gain a wider and better picture of your dogs mobility and any restrictions that may be causing them sub clinical pain. We will also give you advice on what you can do to help.

As we work with the Veterinary Act 1966 and Exemptions Order 2015 we cannot massage your dog at a show.

Existing Clients

If you are an existing client of a member of the Canine Massage Guild you will be eligible for FREE Warm Ups and Cool Downs with the therapist who has Veterinary Consent to massage your dog.

It’s not often we get something for free so don't miss out on this opportunity! It may just be the thing you have been have looking for to help prolong your dogs health and mobility and give you a better appreciation of the power of the muscular system.
