About the therapist

Hi, I’m Clare Tustain of Apollo Canine Massage Therapy. I’ve been lucky enough to have dogs with me all my life, and I cannot imagine my life without dogs in it.

I have always been very interested in canine rehabilitation and having met one of The Canine Massage Guild’s therapists at a local show around 5 years ago, I had my mind set on becoming a therapist in the not-too-distant future. I have also seen the results personally on one of my own dogs who suffered with a neurological condition. Being made redundant from a job in television gave me the opportunity to finally pursue my dream.

After 2 years of intensive and in-depth training with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre on their Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner Programme, I am proud to be able to provide Clinical Canine Massage Therapy to dogs in Hampshire, West Surrey and East Berkshire in the comfort of their own homes.

The skills the Practitioner Course has taught me such as Myofascial Release, Palpation, Swedish, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage along with the clinically trialled Lenton Method™ allow treatments to be individually tailored to each client’s needs during the initial consultation.

Massage Therapy can be beneficial to all types and breeds of dogs. It can help to support various orthopaedic conditions, improve the comfort and mobility of senior dogs, help to resolve muscular issues before they develop into a potentially more serious problem, as well as support post-surgical rehabilitation. Massage can also help to enhance the performance of canine athletes and helps improve overall wellbeing in dogs of all breeds and ages.

Cost

Initial Consultation and Treatment 90 Minutes – £40

Client Comments

My Frenchie has been seeing Clare for a few months now and both him and I can definitely recommend her!!! Her massage has really helped him and he’s become so much calmer and happier following an accident. Thank you Clare!

Sally – Norman (French Bulldog – 5 Years)

Our Staffie cross, Herbie has had many operations on three of his legs over the years, both back and front left. He has elbow dysplasia, both back leg luxating patella’s and then torn acl’s.
Clare gave Herbie a thorough check over, gently identifying delicate or problem areas. She explained everything she was going to do and how it would help. Herbie was very happy with Clare’s treatment, and she kept him relaxed as she massaged him. She explained possible side effects and things to look out for after the treatment, and things we could do to help him.
As a 30kg Staffie, Herbie is not always cooperative, Clare is always gentle and careful and you can tell she cares so much about her patients. She also kept us informed and explained what she was looking for. The best recommendation is that Herbie had a good stretch and long sleep after her visits!

Andrea – Herbie (Staffordshire Bull Terrier X American Bulldog – 8 Years)

Clare came to give Domino my 7 year old Greyhound a massage and she immediately put her at ease. Being a Greyhound she can be a bit fragile and her shoulder and front leg had been bothering her causing intermittent lameness.
Seeing Clare has made a huge difference to Domino’s movement, and whenever we see Clare now Domino lays down straight away and demands to be ‘treated’.
I recommend Clare to all of my doggie friends and clients.

Helen – Domino (Greyhound – 7 Years)
