About the Therapist

Hello, I am Lia Maxwell with Dog Joy Clinical Canine Massage.
My background is in Human Massage Therapy – Clinical, Remedial and Sports massage. I bring two decades of practical experience to my clinical massage work with dogs. This means that your dog will be in very good hands!
I love and care deeply about animals, and believe that each and every one deserves the best life that we can give them. When I decided to work with dogs, I considered many paths. I knew that I wanted my work to bring comfort and goodness to those in my care, in an everyday way. Then it dawned on me that I already have the ideal skills and experience to give dogs a better quality of life. Massage skills. Two years of training with the internationally renowned Canine Massage Therapy Centre deepened my knowledge, and I am now qualified to treat dogs.
I have had many years of success bringing improved mobility, pain relief and wellbeing to human beings – and now I’m delighted to bring the same benefits to canine beings! I have witnessed, countless times, the impressive and measurable results that clinical massage can achieve.
If your dog is experiencing pain, immobility, orthopaedic or stress related issues – massage can make a positive difference. Often producing vast, and life changing improvements. My aim is to bring each dog closer to an everyday state of ease, and joy.
