About the Therapist:
I have always had a great love of dogs for as long as I can remember! My first career was a dancer so I have forever worked with my body and am fully aware of the mechanics of movement. When my dancing chapter came to a close, I continued teaching and practising yoga, but also had the opportunity to train as a dog trainer in Vienna in 2015. However I felt I wanted to help dogs more, and that is when I came across the 2 year Canine Massage Therapist programme with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre. I completed my training in January 2019 and started working immediately. The dog’ s body and muscular structure was so familiar to me as they are not much different from us. The huge benefits a dog can gain from massage treatments are amazing. It can bring a lot of comfort to dogs that have orthopaedic and muscular issues, neurological issues, old age issues and general mobility issues. I have seen first hand with my dogs how their quality of life has improved and feel so happy to be able to offer this treatment to any dog that has discomfort.

Client Comments:
Athena handled Ruby very well. She certainly has a special way with dogs and within minutes Ruby was on the bed very happy and relaxed. I felt Ruby responded very well to the treatments. In fact he actually fell asleep and was snoring on a couple of occasions! Ruby walked with more ease after her treatments. She managed the stairs a little better and instead of waiting for me to lift her back legs in the car, she has been climbing or jumping in.
MAGGIE
After her second treatment, Szikra was moving more freely and appeared to be enjoying running even more than she usually does. Her limping decreased/stopped and 2 weeks after the treatments has not been noticed. So from my point of view the treatments were beneficial and suitable.
DONALD
Athena had a calm gentle approach with Rupert and treated him with respect. She got to know him well and adjusted to meet his needs. Rupert’s ability to relax and settle during the treatments increased so it was lovely to see him so relaxed and chilled out. Rupert remained sound, no lameness, during the period of treatments, and slept well following treatments during the night (no pacing).
