About the Therapist
My background is in sports and as a qualified Human Sports Massage Therapist, giving me an understanding of how the body works and how it reacts and compensates when things are out of balance, and how the long term effects of this imbalance damages the body. I have always held a love for dog and horses and a passion fuelled by helping and making a difference to animals.
I have been involved with rescue for the past 8 years and my own dogs of which I have 3, a collie cross and two German Shorthaired Pointers have trained and competed in gundog work, agility and cani-cross. Therefore I understand how important it is for ANY performance dog to be in peak condition.
I first became interested in canine massage when one of my dogs started to slow up at an earlier age than expected and I was desperate to help her in some way! So I decided to turn my passion for animals into a profession and studied for two years on the two year Canine Massage Practitioner course with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre.
I am now a full-time therapist offering a home based and mobile service treating dogs giving me the flexibility to treat dogs in their own homes, vets or training venues and specialise in the canine muscular system and its associated injuries.
I treat a wide range of dogs with various issues ranging from maintenance massages to help with activities of every day living and the signs of old age, dogs living with orthopaedic and neurological conditions, performance, show, competition and working dogs to those recovering from injury or surgery.
My experience in rescue and rehoming also means I am experienced with understanding and handling all kinds of dogs. Including those who are nervous of handling or unsure of strangers, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your dog’s individual requirements.

We sought out Dawn for our 9 year old Shih Tzu. Maisy has hip dysplasia and arthritis and in the last 2 year’s has really slowed and stiffened up. We were looking for something as an alternative to medication of which she has been on since the age of 4 to help with her pain and movement. I can honestly say Dawn was amazing with Maisy making her feel at ease and was very thorough and knowledgeable in her field. I recommend you give this a try. My 6 year old Newfie cross often gets stiff. We try and keep her active but we were looking for alternative therapies to help her. I couldn’t believe the difference in her range of movement after one session.
After we finished her 3rd session I could really see a difference in her energy levels, and it was good to see her get up and go without being so stiff. We would like to maintain the sessions as I could really see the benefits.

I can highly recommend Dawn! I brought my dog Tip to her after she had problems with her right foreleg. Dawn also found other areas of tension and tightness through her back, neck and shoulders. Tip has now loosened up tremendously, she is now on reduced pain medication and overall is more comfortable and happily bouncing around like a puppy again. Dawn is brilliant at what she does so get in contact with her and see what magic she can do for your furry friend.
