About the Therapist
Hello, my name is Paula Dryburgh and I run Caledonian Canine Massage. I currently have two rescue dogs and have been competing in agility for a few years, recently starting to teach beginners agility classes. My background is as an Occupational Therapist and I still work in this area, specialising in rehabilitation. This gives me a unique insight into the activities of daily living that your dog’s experience and how to adapt these activities to support your dog. I am also a qualified human sports massage therapist.
I was introduced to canine massage as my first dog got older and his mobility deteriorated, with him becoming intermittently lame, at the same time my other dog picked up an injury at agility. My trainer suggested massage and the difference was incredible, I promptly booked in for a workshop and from there I was hooked and wanted to be able to help other dogs with the wonder of massage!
I work with all sorts of dogs, of all ages, whether they are pets, working or sporting dogs. I help to rehabilitate soft tissue injuries commonly seen as lameness as well as supporting orthopaedic conditions such as arthritis and hip dysplasia. Following treatment, you will see and improvement in mobility, performance and the quality of life of your dog, by reducing pain and increasing comfort levels.

The dog’s temperament has changed in ways which cannot be attributed to the general ambience of her surroundings. She has returned to being more playful with her toys, more alert, and more expressive. Either way the massage treatments were in my opinion very beneficial. I have been won over to clinical massage and will continue to have Bonnie treated on a maintenance basis.
