About the therapist
I am Andy Robertson, the owner of Equilibrium Canine Massage Therapy. I attended a one day introduction to canine massage course and immediately saw the benefits for my own dog , Rico. I was encouraged by my sisters in law (both human massage therapists) to enrol on the Clinical Canine Massage Therapist programme run by Natalie Lenton. I did and after 2 year successfully completed the programme.
I have found canine massage to be really beneficial for my own dog, Rico, who has had major orthopaedic surgery on both hind limbs. It has helped in his recovery from surgery and the ongoing maintenance of his muscular health.
Canine massage is great for helping dogs who have suffered soft tissue injuries, recovery from surgery and living with the changes this can lead to. I have also found that it can help older dogs suffering with the effects of ageing, making them more comfortable and generally helping promote good muscular health for any dog.

Andy was completely sympathetic to Scouts needs and was entirely led by him. If he became unsettled or moved posture/position, Andy would adapt his treatment to him. Andy was very good at sensing when Scout had had enough and wouldn’t carry on with the treatment.

We could really see a difference in Arthur after the second massage. After the first, he was definitely moving more easily, but after the second he was up and about much more. He’s continued to be, joining us in the lounge and garden more, greeting guests to the house, and demanding longer walks. We were keeping him at a maximum of 5 minutes, but he comfortably managed half a mile around the park last week without any stiffness or soreness after. We didn’t think that would be possible again, and I can’t express our gratitude to Andy enough.
Arthur is almost 14. We know he doesn’t have many years left, but Andy has helped us bring life back into those that we do have. Thank you.
