About the Therapist

My name is Ellie and I own K9 Synergy Clinical Massage, based in Kirkcudbright, SW Scotland.

I have always loved animals, especially dogs and horses and I currently share my life with 3 Hungarian Vizslas. I love nothing more than spending my spare time training, showing and working them. Over the years I have travelled many miles around the UK and Europe competing with the dogs, and I know only too well how effective clinical massage therapy is in keeping them fit and injury free.

My career background is in Marketing & PR but, having spent many years in an industry that I didn’t enjoy, I wanted to do something I’m passionate about. So, after a lot of research I found what I was looking for and began the intensive 2 year Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner course with Natalie Lenton at the Canine Massage Therapy Centre.

Treatment techniques used during consultations include:
• Swedish Massage
• Sports Massage
• Deep Tissue Massage
• Myofascial Release (direct and indirect)
• The unique Lenton Method™

I am a fully insured Clinical Canine Massage Therapist and a member of the Canine Massage Guild. As a Guild Member I am committed to continuing my professional development on an annual basis. All consultations comply with The Veterinary Act 1966 and Veterinary Exemptions Order 2015.

Costs

£45 per session
I currently offer home visits (visits outside a 20 mile radius of Kirkcudbright will be charged by negotiation)

Client Comments

I was really interested to see if Clinical Canine Massage would help Wull, my 11 year old Labrador, who I had to retire from Agility following surgery on a cervical disc extrusion. Not long after that I noticed he had ‘twitching skin’ along the length of his back when touched. Wull really enjoyed his massage and soon came to trust Ellie. After just 3 sessions, Wull has been so much happier in himself, and there has been a huge improvement in the ‘twitch response’ along his back and his overall mobility.

Anna, Castle Douglas

My 4 year old Working Cocker, has always been quite anxious and reactive which can affect his focus and concentration at Agility competitions. I wondered whether Canine Massage could help Bailey have a more relaxed approach to life, and help him settle and sleep better. After 3 sessions there was a marked improvement in his whole demeanour. His overall posture was much more relaxed, and instead of always sleeping ‘with one eye open’, he has settled so much better and I even saw him dreaming for the first time in years.

Karen, Kirkcudbright.

Lottie, my 9year old JRT had started to become stiff after long walks and developed intermittent lameness after an Agility competition. Following 3 sessions of Clinical Massage I was amazed at the improvement in Lottie. As a pet I hadn’t realised how withdrawn Lottie had become, but she is now involved in family life again, and as an Agility dog her movement is much more ‘open’ and ‘free’ and at a recent competition her times were competitive with dogs half her age.

Melissa, Dumfries.
