About the Therapist
My name is Emma and I live in Basingstoke with my 4 Border Collies. I am a qualified Accountant and up until 2018 was very much embroiled in the Corporate World. I started doing Agility with my first dog over 10 years ago, but primarily my dogs are my family.
Through wanting to ensure that my competing dogs were in the best physical shape to cope with the demands of agility, I found myself on a Beginners Massage Workshop, held by the Canine Massage Therapy Centre. When I then came to the decision that I needed to make a career change, I didn’t need to look any further than the Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner Programme and I am now the proud owner of Kismet Holistic Canine Therapies.
Through my background of agility, I am passionate about the benefits of Clinical Canine Massage for sporting and working dogs of all disciplines. However, I have also found an unexpected affinity with dogs that have come from rescue backgrounds helping them with anxiety and other psychological benefits of Clinical Canine Massage.
And Clinical Canine Massage is so much more – it helps provide pain management for orthopaedic conditions, such as Hip / Elbow Dysplasia, Arthritis, and other joint issues, as well as remedial treatment of soft tissue or muscular injuries. It is suitable for dogs of any age or breed, helping to improve mobility, activity levels and behaviour. Results are usually visible within 1 to 3 sessions.
I offer a mobile service, treating your dogs in their own home environment, but will also be able to offer clinic appointments in Basingstoke from Autumn 2021. I am also a Canine Conditioning Coach and so able to provide a holistic approach to your dog’s muscular health and fitness.
Cost
£40 per treatment (Travel costs may be applied for home visits more than 15 miles from Basingstoke)

Roo has an injury in his back from his previous owner’s abuse, he has an unusual gait giving him pain and a reluctance to walk. He improved straight away and seemed more relaxed and happy to go for a 3 mile walk.
Emma was such a calming influence, she put Roo at ease straight away watching his reaction and listening to him. Emma is a natural and I feel she helped a very anxious rescue to take the stress out of his little body.

Chester has started to suffer some joint issues and as he gets older, those issues are causing him to slow down. We want him to live as long and as healthy as possible. After a few treatments we noticed that his walk wasn’t so “wonky” and that he wasn’t so stiff when he got up. A definite improvement in just a few sessions.

Qi was diagnosed with signs of arthritic wear in his left elbow and before treatment was lame on his front left leg. He was also reluctant to jump into the back of the car. Qi is now much more comfortable generally, happy to jump in and out of the car again and his stride and cadence is much improved.
Emma handled Qi in a very professional manner and with great patience. Emma was quick to adapt her treatment to fit in with Qi’s needs.
