About the Therapist
I live with my husband Nick, and we have both been involved with dogs for over 25 years, we compete at Agility Shows and I also run training classes in the local area, we also used to show dogs in breed shows.
We share our home with 5 dogs, Barney a Miniature Labradoodle who I compete with in Agility at Grade 7 and Champ which is the highest level that you can compete at, Robbie, a Working Cocker Spaniel who competes with my husband at grade 6, Buddy and Nigel who are both Working Cocker Spaniels who are in training ready to compete when they are ready and Gary a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen who basically just does what he wants!!!
We recently had to say goodbye to our beloved Kate, a german shepherd who was my inspiration to study to become a canine massage therapist, she made it to the grand old age of 14 purely down to the care that she received from a Guild member therapist. Kate suffered from many conditions including Spondylosis, Degenerative Lumbosacral Stenosis and Arthritis, when she was 12 years old the vets told us that they could not help her anymore and so we looked for an alternative approach and this is where we discovered Clinical Canine Massage, this led to Kate being able to enjoy another 2 years of good quality time, living pain free and gave us the opportunity of more time with our beloved girl.
I have a real passion to help as many dogs as I can that may be suffering with orthopaedic conditions such as Arthritis and Hip Dysplasia along with the more mature dogs who may just have started to slow down a bit and lost their zest for life.
Canine Massage is a non-invasive therapy which can help to reduce and manage pain as well as improving a dog’s mobility this enables them to have an improved quality of life.

Beau had a hip replacement when he was four and has suffered stiffness in his leg since. He is now eight. We went to Helen a number of times and the difference was noticeable almost straight away, Beau does not lick his hip as much as he used to. Beau has also been calmer and not so confrontational with other dogs. Helen is very gentle with Beau and he responds well to her and the treatment. She has made a big difference to Beau’s life and we have no hesitation in recommending her.

Although I didn’t have any major concerns with Bryn, he appeared to have a very intermittent hop when running. I also noticed that he had slowed down a little, despite being only 5 years old. It wasn’t until Bryn started to instigate play with our other dog that I realized how much he benefitted from the sessions. Helen did a follow up after our last session where I explained to her that she has found “Bryn’s on switch” as his playful and mischievous antics continued. If like me you have seen any slight changes with your dog’s behavior or body language then I would definitely recommend Helen to check them over.
