About the Therapist
Hello, I’m Jacqui and I own and run Best Life Clinical Canine Massage Therapy, based in the North Staffordshire Moorlands. My life with animals started at five years of age after convincing my parents I was old enough to take care of a dog so along came my gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called Timmy. He was swiftly followed by another, Tessa and then by ponies and horses. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to have never been without at least two dogs and currently share my life with six Pointers who are regularly shown when they’re not galloping around the fields just for the fun of it.
My dogs are my family and ensuring they have the very best possible care is hugely important to me which is what led me to changing my career from teaching to canine massage therapy. Finding the highly respected Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner Programme has led to me training for two years with the Canine Massage Therapy Centre, where I have studied dogs’ anatomy and physiology, as well as learning to practice the four main disciplines of massage – Swedish, sports, deep tissue and myofascial release. They have also provided training in the Lenton Method®, which is unique to Guild Therapists, and is scientifically proven to provide benefit to over 95% of dogs.
I feel exceedingly privileged to be able to work with all sorts of dogs and give them relief from issues such as premature aging, lameness, recovery after surgery, instability or discomfort whilst walking, running or going upstairs and even anxiety or depression. My aim for every dog is to help them enjoy the best life possible free from pain with improved mobility and performance.
Cost
90-minute initial consultation £55, subsequent treatments of 50 minutes £40.
Travel outside of my area is possible but may incur a small surcharge dependent on mileage. Please contact me to discuss further.

Jacqui was amazing with our anxious Deva, so kind and not overbearing or forceful. She allowed Deva time and space before, during and after the massage and Deva responded to her really well. Deva has been to the vets this week 2 days after her second session and was so much calmer when the vet handled her and approached her. A massive change that even the vet commented on. She also had a couple of muscle strains we didn’t know about, and Jacqui has freed up her muscles and movement so it’s a win, win for us.

Rosie, my Chocolate Labrador has Myofascial issues on her thighs.
Jacqui took her time for Rosie to desensitise to her touch and began treatment slowly, gaining Rosie’s trust in the process.
Jacqui reads dogs very well and gave Rosie time to process, if she got up and walked away, and waited for her to return and turn herself towards Jacqui, to consent to more treatment. I have seen improvement in Rosie physical activity since the treatment

Jacqui handled Rex brilliantly, she was calming and gentle in her approach. On occasions when there was some discomfort for Rex she stopped, helped him settle and he rarely even looked at me for comfort or reassurance! Gentle, kind, caring, Rex was quick to be settled and comfortable. By the end of the final session, the area that caused Rex a little discomfort at first seemed to be far more comfortable for him, he didn’t wince and there was a much-improved extension of movement.
I was surprised at how anything was identified and eased over the three treatments.
