About the Therapist
Hi I am Jane of Clinical Canine Massage with Jane based in Surrey. I am a dog lover and have studied for two years in Clinical Canine Massage. My ultimate goal is to help dogs like yours move better with less pain and hopefully feel happier within themselves. My German Shepherd has always been active, but as she has aged wear and tear from activities of daily living have taken a toll on her body. This has meant she has needed interventions like canine massage to keep her moving and getting up to mischief.
I offer mobile massage sessions from the comfort of your own home. Making you and your dog feel safe and relaxed during the session is highly important to me so that I can perform an effective massage and create a positive experience for your dog.
Clinical canine massage is used to rehabilitate soft tissue and muscular injuries commonly seen as limping, lameness, slowing down or stiffness. It also provides chronic pain management of orthopaedic conditions such as arthritis and hip dysplasia. Your dog can’t tell you that they are in pain but they will show you. If you notice a difference in your dog’s posture or the way they move, they may be slowing down. Perhaps they are no longer able to jump in/out of the car, their behaviour changes or they are no longer able to perform their normally tasks. These are signs that they might need some help.

£45 for initial 90min consultation

Gizmo is often stiff on his legs at the end of the day. He generally avoids going up stair and anticipates at making a jump onto the sofa. Jane was calm and professional from the start. She intuitively understood what both my dog and myself needed in this new situation. I thought Jane was a complete natural, attending to Gizmo in a relaxed and comfortable manner. After the session I saw increased mobility including choosing to go upstairs by himself and seemed less stiff in general.

Since the massage Bee is more mobile, less stiff and gets up with greater ease after resting. She seems to have more energy resulting in a little more mischief.

Neo is a rescue and spent his life in kennels before joining us. He hasn’t built up his back leg muscles and has weak hips, he is cow hocked, holding all his weight in his forelegs . Jane was very empathetic to Neo – he is also a very large dog 69.2kg and she worked well to get him where she needed him to be. Neo is much more looser in his front leg muscles and he loved massage. I would definitely recommend canine massage.
