About the therapist
I studied Bio Medical Sciences at The University of Wales Institute Cardiff and moved to Leicestershire following my graduation. I have lived with dogs all my adult life. I volunteer for the Cinnamon Trust and several years ago I began walking a Golden Retriever named George, who is sadly no longer with us. When George’s owner became too frail to take care of him George came to live with me and my own dog Doug. George was an unexpected catalyst for a career change. After working as a police officer for over 15 years I trained as a dog groomer, and in 2019 I started my grooming business; Furs Choice.
I have completed short courses in canine psychology, behaviour and Tellington TTouch®. I hold an animal first aid certificate.
I have always had a keen interest in anatomy and physiology. My dog Doug has a forelimb deformity which with age had begun to affect his quality of life. After seeking complimentary therapy as part of his long term treatment plan, I discovered my real passion. I completed the 2-year Canine Massage Practitioner Program in 2023 and registered with the Canine Massage Guild. I specialise in Swedish, Sports and Deep Tissue Massage, together with Myofascial Release and the clinically proven Lenton Method™

Hugo’s walking had become very slow and laboured in the weeks running up to the first massage. He was very puffed out afterwards. Hugo would always sleep deeply the evening after the massage and the following afternoon he was much more limber and really enjoyed his walk.
On a normal day he might do a happy yelp and a little trot for 5 seconds. On his afternoon walk the day after a massage he would bark and have a burst of running for 5 seconds. On the day after his third massage I had to put him back on the lead as he was running and absolutely loving it!

The more Jerry has got to know Nicki the better the sessions have become. He has settled to her nature very well and she is superb with him. She has taken the time to get to know and understand Jerrys needs.
Jerry responded very well to the massages – it really does seem to have taken years off him, from being stiff and laboured struggling to climb onto the bed and needing help, to jumping up with relative ease. Jerry was having slow short walks but since the massages he has wanted to run and is moves much smoother.
Although I was initially sceptical, I would very much recommend this to others

Dottie has hardly any sight now and very little hearing, therefore building a rapport quickly could be difficult, Nikki was really confident, very calm, which in turn calmed me as I was anxious not knowing what to expect.
I really couldn’t have asked any more, Dottie is my whole world and I would do anything that may help her in any way so it took a lot for me to trust a complete stranger. Nikki made me feel at ease from the start.
On the 2nd and 3rd session Nikki left with Dottie settled and asleep and did not wake until the next day, again something she hasn’t done for a very long time and without any accidents overnight.
Nikki was just amazing, she explained to me what she was doing, what she was feeling and how Dottie might be afterwards and as far as handling Dottie she could not have done anything better.
