About the therapist
Hi, I’m Tania and I run Tenderhound Therapies. I have lived with dogs my whole life, studied canine behaviour and communication, and have learned a variety of complementary therapies for many years. One of my rescue dogs, Hector, came into my life in 2016 and because of him my whole world changed, introducing me to agility, Hoopers and canine health. I started looking for something that would combine both my love and interest in dogs, and complementary therapies, and I found the one-day workshops offered by the Canine Massage Therapy Centre, attended 3 of them, then decided to study the 2-year Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner programme.
I help to rehabilitate soft tissue and muscular injuries commonly seen as lameness and stiffness and help to support orthopaedic conditions like arthritis and hip dysplasia. Using four disciplines of massage – Swedish, Sports, Deep Tissue, and the Lenton Method® of myofascial release, as well as assessment using gait analysis, palpation and body mapping, enables me to provide an individualised treatment plan for your dog. Usually results can be seen in one to three sessions.
Have you noticed any changes in your dog, such as gait irregularity, posture, change in Activities of Daily Living, behaviour or performance? If so, and you feel that your dog may benefit from Clinical Canine Massage, or you are just curious to find out more, please do get in touch.

Client Comments
My dog Bear is aging fast and I have benefitted from massage myself, so I was interested in seeing if Tania could help him. He was finding it more difficult to jump onto the bed and the sofa, had slowed down and was not very happy in himself.
Tania was great with Bear, she is an animal person. Bear trusted her because she “listened” to his cues and let him take a break if he was unsure. She was calm and kind, and really easy to talk to. She gave advice re Bear’s bed and other ideas to help. He definitely improved throughout the sessions and I would absolutely recommend Canine Massage Therapy!

Gracie had a previous injury to her left hind cruciate ligament which left her limping and weak on that leg. Although this did not stop her walking she was much less enthusiastic about going out. I was interested in canine massage to see if it would help her feel more comfortable regarding her injury.
Gracie responded well and was relaxed during treatments. She was treated with kindness and understanding by Tania, who was professional in her approach.
I saw improvement in Gracie’s gait, she was more enthusiastic when going out for walks and was generally more active.

I was interested and open to see if massage could help my dog relax and decompress more as he can be anxious and worried in certain situations. After three sessions we saw that, for especially the few days after, Rory was a lot more relaxed and able to disengage from his triggers. He was able to relax into resting and sleeping in the day a lot easier. It was amazing to see him just lay down for an hour to be massaged!!!
I think the treatments and Tania were truly remarkable. How she gained his trust so quickly to be able to give him an hour massage was something else! I’d recommend Tania and her canine massage 100%!
