Nikki Dew – Cruise Control Canine Massage in North Somerset

Nikki had the following clients competing at Crufts…

Lucie and Piixie

Lucie and Piixie qualified for Crufts for the 5th time this year.  On the first day they competed in the Large Crufts team and ran a fantastic anchor leg resulting in their team being crowned champions.  This is a special year for teams as it is the last year that the Crufts team event will be run so this win will go in the history books, Congratulations team All About Agility Stars.

Piixie was back again on Sunday to compete with Lucie in the exclusive Crufts singles.  Piixie is a real credit to her owner who keeps Piixie in tip top shape with Canine Massage alongside other therapies which really shows in 9 year old Piixie coming home as a Team champion and giving the younger dogs a run for their money.

Janet and Velda

Janet and Velda competed at Crufts in obedience in Class A.  Velda is only 2 years old but coped with the spot light so well and held on to an impressive 6th place.  What an achievement for such a young dog.  Janet said Velda was very tired after her day of competing.

Bonny & Shelley

Bonny & Shelley were back at Crufts again this year for the 5th time.  They competed in the British Open and won the jumping round with the fastest time over all 3 heights and it was fab to see them on the podium once again.  Bonny helps keep Shelley in great condition by regular canine massage sessions alongside other therapies which shows in Shelley’s great results.

Zoe with Whizz and Gem

11 year old Zoe competed in the YKC (young kennel club) agility twice!  On the Thursday Zoe competed with Whizz in the singles semi-final and came a fabulous 4th place.  Zoe was back again on the Sunday with Gem and competed in the YKC pairs with her team mate Georgia.  Zoe and Gem finished the pairs run with a great clear round gaining them 4th place.  Well done!

Susie and Pixie.

Susie and Pixie were at Crufts on the Saturday competing in the Crufts small team event with their fellow BHC team mates.  Pixie ran a fabulous clear round helping the team to finish on the podium in 2nd place.  Congratulations.

Beth & Mia

Beautiful Nova Scotia Duck Toller Mia competed in the show ring in a large post graduate class.  Owner Beth said Mia behaved beautifully and earnt a great 4th place.  Well done.

Sarah & Vinyasa

Sarah and Vinyasa competed on the Friday in the Large Novice ABC Agility Finals.  Vinyasa ran a lovely clear round in jumping and along with her agility result came 5th overall.  Well done speedy whippet!

Alison Pearce  – Alison Pearce Vet Physio in Newbury

www.forwardfocusvetphysio.co.uk

Alison had some great results from her Crufts clients.

Rory Tidmarsh (YKC agility) and Dude

Dude & I had an amazing experience at Crufts last weekend. We came 5th in the new YKC Pairs Agility competition (age 12-17 Large). This was all possible thanks to Alison Pearce of Canine Massage Guild. Dude had a groin strain that could have stopped him competing but Alison massaged him so he was able to compete at Crufts. We are now going to work with Alison to get him fit for Team GB team selection in a couple of weeks. Thank you Alison

Beth Mantel and Monty

Before Monty‘s treatments he was very difficult on the table and didn’t like the judge feeling him over. After several sessions with Alison he is now confident and happy and clearly no longer sore! He is happy on the table and back enjoying being in the show ring!

He is also on top form in agility and the dream is to try and get to Crufts in both showing and agility one year. With his results from this year’s Crufts gives him immediate qualification for next year’s Crufts showing… next step agility!

Dave Munnings and Fame

Dave Munnings and Fame have had another amazing Crufts! Together they won the Singles Jumping round and Singles Final on Friday, and won the Champ Jumping round and second in the Champ Agility on Sunday.

Dave and Fame are an inspirational team, and for Fame to still be performing at the absolute pinnacle of her sport at 8.5 years old is a credit to Dave and the care he puts into all his dogs, including regular massage treatments with Canine Massage Guild therapist Alison Pearce.

Agnes Campan – Canine Pawsibilities in Aberdeenshire

They also made history by being the first Scottish team to win the International Invitational Agility Competition. They did it in style winning all 3 rounds (Jumping, Agility and Final). Not to mention their reserve ticket in the agility championship final. What an amazing team!

Vykki who owns Vinnie said “Paula Dryburgh from ‘Caledonian Massage’ luckily lives locally and provides a superb massage treatment for Vinnie. She is quick to find any niggles he may be experiencing helping him to stay fit and conditioned for not only the rigours of Agility, but precision movement for Breed showing and Rally.

Vinnie’s health, condition, energy and well-being is paramount to me and I’m very fussy about everything he does from food to exercise. Canine massage is invaluable to keep Vinnie at the top of his game. ”

Gill Hornsby – Great and Small Canine Massage in the New Forest – Canine Massage Guild  Stand Manager Thursday and Friday.

Crufts 2020 Canine Massage Guild stand

Thursday 5th & Friday 6th March

Not surprisingly footfall was a lot lighter this year, nonetheless we had plenty of enquiries and saw a couple of people who are either studying their practitioners modules or starting their practical’s, so lots of encouragement was given to them.

We had a flying visit from Clare Balding and the TV crew, who mentioned our free muscular health checks, we carried out a couple of demo’s each day and palpated many dogs.

We had a beautiful Pyrenean volunteer as a demo dog and drew in a large crowd, who all wanted a photo with him.

The Canine Massage Guild has therapists all over the UK and abroad.  To find your nearest canine massage therapist please go to k9-massageguild.co.uk and look on the therapist register.

Thank you.
